Here's part of an app we were envisioning for The Future of LA workshops with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation where individuals would receive incentives while using various transportation modes to get off that route and visit local businesses while they would otherwise be stuck waiting in traffic.
Here, Nina receives notifications that she will be late to work on this bus route, but if she meets with here friends who are nearby, she can receive a discount to check out a Cuban restaurant since she noted interest in her user profile. She can write co-workers from the app and ask if they don't mind if she stops for lunch.
