I started pulling myself and my friends into Metropolis, the imagined city where everything is as it should be, and somehow it freed us up to describe exactly how things should work and document these ideas to socialize them with decision makers.
It's surprising how easy it is to start designing really useful interactions when the expectation is it will be the best, it will work for everyone, and it will make an impact.
